GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited has announced the appointment of Carson Dalton as Executive Vice President – Communications and Government Affairs, effective March 3, 2025. Dalton replaces Ransom Dsouza in this role. With over two decades of experience in Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability, Dalton has an impressive background in the field. Prior to joining GSK, he served as Senior Director at Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, where he was responsible for delivering strong outcomes in Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability for the operating unit.
Before joining Coca-Cola, Dalton was the founding head of the Ola Mobility Institute (OMI), a corporate think tank focused on new-age mobility, such as electric vehicles. He also spearheaded market access for Ola’s ride-hailing services. Earlier, Dalton was the first head of communications for Facebook in India, playing a key role in the long-term growth of WhatsApp and Instagram in the Indian sub-continent.
Dalton’s experience also extends to the telecom sector, having worked with British Telecom (BT) in India, London, and Singapore, as well as with Idea Cellular, where he established the Public Relations function. He started his career as a journalist for leading publications, including the Indian Express, Mid-Day, and JAM Magazine. Dalton holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing and Finance from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) in Pune. With his extensive experience and expertise in Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability, Dalton is well-equipped to lead GSK’s Communications and Government Affairs division.
