Cipla, a leading pharmaceutical company, has been slapped with a fine of over Rs 1 crore by the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Authority. The fine is a result of a probe into Cipla’s alleged violation of GST norms. The case is related to the company’s alleged failure to disclose its inputs and goods and services tax (GST) on sales of $180 million, which is approximately Rs 1,220 crore. The GST Authority has imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on the company.
