Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has established a new branch office in Perth, Western Australia, to focus on decarbonization business. The new office will serve as a base for MHI-Australia’s (MHI-AUS) decarbonization business, complementing its existing head office in Sydney. The Perth office aims to secure a strong presence in Western Australia, a major hub for environmental protection and sustainable development.

Perth is experiencing significant economic growth driven by the mining and natural resources industries, and infrastructure development is being spurred by government support for hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects. The new office will enable MHI to deepen its ties with local partners and provide services to local customers, contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society in Australia.

MHI Group is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and is strengthening its position in the Energy Transition by focusing on decarbonization on the energy supply side. The Perth office will enable MHI to contribute to the formulation of energy policies in Australia and support initiatives that promote a sustainable carbon-neutral society.

The establishment of the Perth office marks a significant step in MHI’s expansion in the Australian market, where demand for decarbonization solutions is growing rapidly. By leveraging its expertise in hydrogen, ammonia, and CCUS, MHI is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and drive business growth in Western Australia.
