Citroen has launched its Dark Edition range in India, comprising three models: the Basalt SUV Coupe, C3 hatchback, and Aircross SUV. The Dark Edition lineup is a limited-run series, available only on the top variants of the C3, Aircross, and Basalt, with prices starting at Rs 12.80 lakh for the Basalt and Rs 8.38 lakh for the C3. The changes are purely cosmetic, with a bold dark hue (Perla Nera Black) and chrome accents elevating the visual appeal. The dual-tone wheels maintain their signature style.
The Dark Edition range retains the same powertrains as the standard models, with a choice of a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 81bhp and 115Nm or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 108bhp and up to 205Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual for the naturally aspirated variant, while the turbo-petrol versions are available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Inside, the Dark Edition range offers a more refined and sporty ambiance, with the addition of black upholstery with red stitching, a leatherette dashboard, and illuminated sill plates and ambient footwell lighting. The models come equipped with a range of features, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen, remote keyless entry, a 7-inch digital display for the driver, automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
On the safety front, each model is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-start assist, ABS with EBD, six airbags, and a rearview camera with proximity sensors. The launch of the Citroen Dark Edition range highlights the company’s ambition to compete with prominent automakers in India and fulfills the demand for bold, style-driven cars designed for discerning customers.
