Amazon Prime Video has started streaming reruns of the reality TV show “The Apprentice,” starring US President Donald Trump. The first season is now available on the platform, with new seasons being released weekly, including the seventh season in April. This comes after Amazon announced a documentary providing a behind-the-scenes look at First Lady Melania Trump.

Trump himself expressed his enthusiasm for the show’s revival, saying, “I look forward to watching this show myself… it was a learning experience for all of us! The Apprentice is one of the best shows that I ever produced.” The show, which debuted in 2004, featured Trump as a tough business tycoon judging aspiring entrepreneurs in a competitive format. Contestants competed for his favor, with failures met with Trump’s famous “You’re fired!” dismissal.

The show was owned by MGM Alternative, which was bought by Amazon three years ago, making Trump’s name a global brand and playing a role in launching his political career. Despite Trump’s removal from the US version in 2015 following controversial comments, the UK edition continues to air on the BBC. The show’s international adaptations also continued broadcasting globally. The revival on Amazon Prime Video is expected to attract a new audience, with Trump’s charismatic on-screen presence making it a “bona fide hit.”
