Chery’s new SUV, the Jetour Freedom, was launched in Saudi Arabia on February 19, under the name Jetour T1. The vehicle comes in two trims, with prices ranging from 109,999 Saudi riyals (approximately 29,300 USD or 211,900 yuan) to 119,999 Saudi riyals (approximately 32,000 USD or 230,900 yuan). The Jetour Freedom is a gasoline-powered variant of the Jetour Shanhai T1, which is part of Chery’s product series.
In China, the Jetour Freedom went on pre-sale on February 14, with a price range of 129,900 to 159,900 yuan (approximately 17,900 to 22,000 USD). The vehicle features a length of 4706mm, width of 1967mm, and height of 1845mm, with a wheelbase of 2810mm.
The Jetour T1 is available with two engine options: a 1.5T engine producing 135kW (181hp) and 290Nm, and a 2.0T engine producing 180kW (251hp) and 390Nm. Both engines come with automatic transmission, with the 1.5T paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the 2.0T paired with an 8-speed automatic and an XWD fully automatic intelligent four-wheel drive system.
The interior features a symmetrical T-shaped layout, with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The vehicle also includes a range of advanced features such as navigation, mobile phone interconnection, voice interaction, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. The front seats also come with heating and ventilation functions, and the rear seat backrest can be adjusted. The trunk space can be extended to form a flat surface measuring 2 meters in length when the rear seats are folded down.
Chery aims to sell over 20,000 vehicles in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2025, and plans to expand its dealer network in the region. The Jetour Freedom is the latest addition to Chery’s growing lineup of vehicles, offering a range of innovative features and off-road capabilities.
