The Jawa 42 FJ is a new motorcycle from Classic Legends that boasts a bigger 334cc engine, producing 29.2hp and 29.6Nm of torque. The bike’s engine is a significant improvement, with refined fuelling, better rideability, and a new larger radiator fan to address heat issues. The FJ also features a more precise 6-speed gearbox and dual exhausts that produce a loud and engaging sound.

On the road, the FJ is an enjoyable ride, with strong mid-range performance and easy handling. The bike’s 184kg weight and shorter gearing make it agile and easy to maneuver, with good stability and grip. The suspension is decent, if not plush, and the braking is solid with dual-channel ABS.

However, the FJ’s quality and finish could improve, with some details feeling a bit derivative. The price range of Rs 2 lakh-2.2 lakh puts it in competition with other bikes like the Triumph Speed T4, RE 350s, and Honda CB 350 RS. While the Jawa 42 FJ still needs to improve its reputation for quality and reliability, it now appears to be a worthy contender in the market.

Overall, the Jawa 42 FJ is a bike that’s worth considering, with its improved engine, handling, and price point. While it’s not without its flaws, it’s a step in the right direction for Classic Legends, and one that could signal a new era for the brand.
