The BYD Sealion 7 is the company’s latest entry in the SUV segment, rivaling the recently launched BMW X1 LWB in terms of size and performance. Measuring 4830mm in length and 2930mm in wheelbase, the Sealion 7 is larger than the X1 LWB, which has a length of 4616mm and a wheelbase of 2800mm.
In terms of performance, the Sealion 7 is significantly more powerful than the X1 LWB. The single-motor version of the Sealion 7 produces 313hp, while the dual-motor version can deliver 530hp. The X1 LWB, on the other hand, has a single motor producing 204hp. The Sealion 7 also has a more impressive battery pack, with a capacity of 82.56 kWh compared to the X1 LWB’s 66.4 kWh.
In terms of range, the X1 LWB has an edge, with a maximum range of 531km per charge. However, the Sealion 7 is not far behind, with a range of around 450-500km.
When it comes to value for money, the Sealion 7 is priced between Rs 48.9 lakh to Rs 54.9 lakh, while the X1 LWB is priced at Rs 49 lakh. While both cars have their strengths, the Sealion 7 offers more performance, range, and luxury, making it a more compelling option for customers. On the other hand, the X1 LWB has a focus on rear seat space and luxury. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on individual priorities.
