BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have signed a contract with the City of Valenzuela to provide 41 electric vehicles (EVs) for its police fleet. This marks the first local government unit in the country to adopt an EV fleet for law enforcement and the largest of its kind in the Philippines. The EVs will provide 24/7 security while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving the city up to 70% of its fleet’s operational and maintenance budget over five years. Valenzuela City has long been committed to environmental initiatives and this move is another step towards sustainability. The city aims to set an example for other communities to adopt zero-emission EVs. ACMobility will install EV chargers across the city to ensure seamless operation of the new fleet. The partnership demonstrates a new way of thinking about mobility and the daily challenges of sustainability. Mayor Weslie Gatchalian believes that this move will set an example for private companies, communities, and individuals to reconsider their choices and drive towards a cleaner future.
Valenzuela City sets a new milestone by introducing the biggest electric vehicle fleet in the Philippines, powered by BYD’s innovative electric cars, revolutionizing the city’s law enforcement with a sustainable and eco-friendly twist.
