TVS Motor Company introduced the RT-XD4, a new 300cc engine, at the MotoSoul event. The engine is designed in-house and features advanced technologies for enhanced performance, including dual overhead cams, oil pumps, and a dual breather system. The engine produces 34bhp and 28.5Nm of torque and is designed to deliver high-performance capabilities. The TVS RT-XD4 engine has been developed at the company’s R&D Centre in Hosur, India. The engine’s design includes a forward-incline unit, liquid-cooling with water and oil jackets, and a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine also features ride-by-wire throttle. Compared to the Apache RTR 310 and Apache RR 310’s 312cc engine, the TVS RT-XD4’s power and torque outputs are similar, despite its smaller cubic capacity. TVS Motor Company’s Managing Director, Sudarshan Venu, said the engine is a major milestone for the company and a demonstration of its engineering and research capabilities.
