Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, in partnership with the Indian Navy, has launched “Ride of the Marakkars”, a 10-day motorcycle rally to pay tribute to India’s rich maritime heritage and the legacy of the iconic Kunjali Marakkars. The rally aims to promote national pride, environmental sustainability, and community involvement, covering a 1,580 km round trip from Mumbai to various coastal cities, including Pune, Satara, Ratnagiri, and Goa. The journey will include stopovers at historical maritime landmarks, community outreach programs, and tree plantation initiatives. The rally will also feature educational visits to schools and colleges, career guidance sessions, and interactive sessions at historical naval sites. The event represents a significant milestone in the partnership between Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles and the Indian Navy, symbolizing the bridge they build between the Navy and the communities they protect. The ride is led by senior officers of the Indian Navy and includes a convoy of 22 motorcycles, joined by BSA motorcycles for the first time.
To mark its 53rd Navy Day, the Indian Navy and motorcycle manufacturers Jawa and Yezdi are hosting a 10-day rally.
