The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) reported a 4% year-on-year increase in passenger vehicle (PV) dispatches to 3,47,522 units in November 2024. This growth momentum is sustained from the post-festive period in October. Market leader Maruti Suzuki dispatched 1,41,312 units, a 5% increase from November 2023. Hyundai Motor India’s dispatches declined by 2%, while Mahindra & Mahindra’s sales rose 16%. Wholesale sales of two-wheelers fell by 1%, with scooter sales rising 12%, bike dispatches falling 7.5%, and moped sales increasing 6%. Total three-wheeler dispatches witnessed a 1% year-on-year dip. According to SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon, the demand momentum seen in October continued in November, with passenger vehicle sales reaching a record high of 3.48 lakh units. The two-wheeler segment crossed the 16 lakh units mark for the first time in a non-Diwali November.
