Mahindra, an Indian automaker, has partnered with Dolby Laboratories to integrate Dolby Atmos technology into its BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs. This collaboration aims to create a more immersive and engaging in-car experience. The vehicles will feature a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system optimized for Dolby Atmos, allowing drivers and passengers to access high-quality audio. The technology provides precise sound placement, enhancing the clarity and depth of audio content. The integrated Gaana app will allow users to stream music in Dolby Atmos.
The Dolby Atmos system in the Mahindra electric SUVs will transform the vehicle interior into a personal entertainment space, providing a studio-quality audio experience. The technology allows creators to precisely position sounds within a three-dimensional space, immersing listeners in the audio content. This results in greater clarity, sound separation, and a more profound connection with the entertainment.
Mahindra’s President of Automotive Product Development, R Velusamy, said that the integration of Dolby Atmos is a step towards delivering extraordinary experiences across every aspect of driving. The company aims to set a new benchmark for in-car entertainment, ensuring that every journey is not only seamless but also truly immersive.
