The Ambuja Foundation, with support from the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and Hero Motocorp Ltd, has trained 30 women from the Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh, India, in electric vehicle (EV) training as part of its Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) program. The program aimed to provide employment opportunities for rural and tribal women in the EV sector, which has traditionally been male-dominated. The 30 women were trained in technical skills, computer knowledge, soft skills, and workplace safety, as well as industry-specific sessions. The initiative has successfully secured employment for the trainees with leading automotive companies. The program’s goal is to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women, emphasizing economic empowerment and development. The success of the program demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to empowering women and driving economic change in rural India, paving the way for a more inclusive and diverse workforce in the rapidly growing EV sector.
