The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed photos of the 2026 BYD Dolphin, a facelifted version of the entry-level electric hatchback. The updates include a cleaner design, particularly on the front end, with new headlights that extend onto the front fenders. The mid-spec electric powertrain option will produce 174 hp, joining the lineup. The facelifted Dolphin is expected to debut in 2025, with the interior likely to feature new tech features and slightly redesigned trim.
The 2026 BYD Dolphin will be available with three outputs: 94 hp, 174 hp, and 201 hp. It will be equipped with BYD Blade LFP battery packs, with current battery options offering a range of 420 km to 520 km. The pricing is expected to remain between ¥99,800-129,800 ($13,800-17,900) in China, AU$36,890 (US$ 23,600) in Australia, and €36,990 ($38,940) in the Netherlands before local EV subsidies. The refreshed Dolphin is expected to reach the local market in mid-to-late 2025.
