Audi India has issued a recall for its e-tron EV range due to technical issues affecting 31 units manufactured between January 2020 and February 2024. The recall is related to individual cell modules in the high-voltage battery, which may cause overheating and potentially lead to a fire risk. The issue could result in injuries to occupants and bystanders. The problem is expected to be fixed free of cost, and Audi will reach out to customers to schedule a service. The e-tron range consists of the e-tron GT and RS GT e-tron, priced at Rs 1.80 crore and Rs 2.05 crore, respectively. The recall does not affect the overall performance or range of the vehicles, which offers a maximum range of up to 500 km on a single charge. The e-tron competes with the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Porsche Taycan in the Indian market.
