The Skoda Kylaq is a new entry-level product in India, with a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh. It competes with subcompact SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. The Kylaq undercuts top-spec variants of its rivals by more than Rs 1 lakh. For example, the entry-level Classic variant is cheaper than the base-spec variants of the Brezza, Nexon, and Sonet by up to Rs 45,000.

The Kylaq tops out at Rs 13.35 lakh with a manual transmission, undercutting the top-spec variants of the Nexon and XUV 3XO by up to Rs 64,000. The mid-spec Signature variant is priced similarly to the mid-spec HTK turbo iMT variant of the Sonet. However, the Kylaq Signature lacks some features, such as a bigger 8-inch touchscreen and a rearview camera.

The Kylaq uses a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission, while other rivals have different powertrain options. The automatic variants of the Kylaq and its rivals range from Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh.
