Royal Enfield, the motorcycle business arm of Eicher Motors, is seeing good traction in its international business, but is being cautious due to regulatory transitions in various markets. CEO B Govindarajan noted that Europe will be “very different” due to OBD2 emission control systems, and the company expects pre-bookings and pre-registrations to increase. Latin America has “some weaknesses” in Argentina and Colombia, while Brazil has a quota issue that will be addressed with a new plant. Royal Enfield is also expanding its retail outlets in Brazil and has seen positive acceptance of its products, including the Himalayan. The company is not expecting a major jerk in international markets and is hopeful that growth will gradually increase. In India, Royal Enfield has seen a strong rural demand and is working on new products, including the Guerrilla 450 Roadster and the 2024 Classic 350. The company is also gearing up for the launch of its electric motorcycle brand, the Flying Flea, and has filed 28 patents in the EV world.
Royal Enfield is cautious yet optimistic about the global market trends, according to industry reports.
