KTM, an Austrian bike maker, has announced that the judicial restructuring of its holding company, Pierer Mobility AG, will not impact its business in India and select export markets. The restructuring is affecting the company’s business in Austria, as well as exports to the US and Europe. However, the business in India, which is co-developed with Bajaj Auto, will continue to operate normally. Bajaj Auto, which holds a 49.9% stake in Pierer Bajaj AG, is a strategic partner of KTM and manufactures and sells KTM-branded bikes in India and exports them to other markets. The companies will continue to develop and manufacture products for the Indian market and for overseas exports. Despite the challenges, Bajaj Auto remains committed to growing its premium motorcycle business in India, which saw its highest ever sales volumes last financial year. The company is working closely with its channel partners to achieve further growth. Overall, the restructuring does not affect the KTM 890 Duke R and other products developed and sold by Bajaj Auto in India and select export markets.
KTM’s restructuring of its holding firm will not affect its India business partnership with Bajaj Auto.
