The game remained scoreless until the second period, when Colgate’s Elyssa Biederman scored her ninth goal of the season, slipping the puck under BC goalkeeper Grace Campbell’s glove. Biederman struck again just four minutes later, finishing a rush set up by Ava Wood and Alexia Aubin to make it 2-0 Colgate. The Eagles’ struggles continued in the third period, as Biederman completed her hat trick with a power-play goal just 1:33 into the frame, securing a 3-0 Colgate victory.<\/p>\n
BC head coach Katie Crowley acknowledged that the team’s power play has been a season-long struggle, saying “We mixed it up a little bit, and did a few things differently.” However, the Eagles were unable to capitalize on their opportunities, and Crowley noted that the team’s inability to score goals is a major concern. “We’ve got to find ways to score goals,” she said. “That’s the name of the game, and where we are right now, we’re not able to do that quite yet.”<\/p>\n
The loss drops BC to 9-10-1 on the season, while Colgate improves to 10-10-1. The Eagles will look to regroup and find their scoring touch in their next game, as they seek to overcome their struggles and get back on track.
