UNESCO and Nestlé have launched a collaborative program called “Youth Impact: Because You Matter” to support 100 young entrepreneurs aged 18-30 in developing innovative solutions for sustainable and resilient food systems. The program is open for applications until April 8, and selected participants will receive a grant of $8,500 and six months of training and mentorship from Nestlé experts and UNESCO.

The program aims to fund projects that promote sustainable food production and processing, reduction of food waste and water, plastics, and synthetic fertilizers. The goal is to address the challenges of feeding a growing global population while mitigating the impact of climate change.

Laurent Freixe, CEO of Nestlé, emphasized the importance of a qualified future workforce and a resilient supply of raw materials for the long-term success of food manufacturers. He stated that the challenges of feeding the world’s growing population and addressing climate change require decisive actions, which is why Nestlé is supporting young entrepreneurs in finding innovative solutions.

The program offers a unique opportunity for young individuals to develop their ideas, skills, and networks while making a positive impact on the food industry and the environment. By supporting these entrepreneurs, Nestlé and UNESCO aim to create a more sustainable and resilient food system for the future.
