Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state’s Quantum Valley will be dedicated to the nation on January 1, 2026. The Quantum Valley tech park, located in Amaravati, aims to establish India’s most advanced and first-of-its-kind quantum computing system. The park will be anchored by IBM’s 156-qubit Quantum System Two, which is expected to be the largest quantum computing system in the country. Naidu emphasized the need to involve academia, startups, and global partners to create a scalable and replicable ecosystem, similar to the Silicon Valley.

The Chief Minister signed agreements with IBM, TCS, and L&T to develop the Quantum Valley tech park. L&T will begin construction of the main block and supporting infrastructure, while two committees will be constituted to fast-track the project’s execution. One committee will focus on infrastructure development, while the other will focus on ecosystem building. The park will act as a launchpad for high-end job creation, talent development, and global investment inflows into India’s emerging quantum industry.

Naidu highlighted the importance of quantum computing, stating that it is the foundation for next-generation innovation and governance. He noted that financial constraints are not a hurdle and urged for an aggressive, time-bound approach to build the ecosystem. The Chief Minister also announced that he will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has shown enthusiasm for the project, and involve the Government of India in the development of the Quantum Valley.

The Quantum Valley tech park will enable the development of quantum-enabled public services, such as GST optimization and real-time census modeling. Andhra Pradesh aims to appoint global experts and create India’s first quantum governance framework. The state aims to emerge as a global hub for quantum computing, research, and innovation, and the Quantum Valley tech park is expected to play a crucial role in achieving this goal. With the dedication of the Quantum Valley to the nation on January 1, 2026, Andhra Pradesh is poised to take a significant leap in the field of quantum computing and establish itself as a leader in the industry.
