Sadhan Kumar Roy, a former president of Milanee and a long-time officer of Tata Steel, has passed away at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and family. Roy’s tenure as president of Milanee, from 2013 to 2016, was marked by significant achievements, including the institution’s centenary celebration in 2014, which was attended by Tata Steel’s Managing Director T.V. Narendran and Ruchi Narendran. During his time as president, Roy also oversaw a grant of Rs 5 lakh from Tata Steel to support renovations and modernization of Milanee.

In addition to his work at Milanee, Roy held the position of Head of Tata Steel’s Blast Furnace division, where he was recognized for his leadership and dedication. His legacy also extends to the community, where he is remembered as a champion of modernization and cultural preservation. Roy’s contributions to Milanee and Tata Steel have had a lasting impact, and he will be fondly remembered by colleagues, friends, and the broader community.
