Ambuja Cements’ Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (SEDI) in Sankrail, West Bengal, is making a positive impact on the lives of rural youth. The SEDI program offers skill development training, promoting financial independence and sustainable development in their communities. One such example is Sadhan Hansda, a resident of Gurap village in Hooghly, who enrolled in the Automobile Service Technician 2-wheeler course despite commuting 150 km daily. After completing the course, Sadhan secured a job in Ahmedabad with a monthly salary of Rs. 16,441. His story has inspired others in his village to join the SEDI program. Ambuja Cements, through its 17 SEDIs, aims to empower underprivileged youth with the necessary skills to secure employment and achieve financial independence. By doing so, the company is contributing to the nation’s growth and development.
