Tata Steel has launched its first Mobile Bore Pile Cage Machine in Assam, India, in collaboration with TJK India. This innovative machine is designed to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and deliver customized project requirements with precision, particularly in regions with challenging terrain and logistical complexities. The machine was unveiled at the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Plant site in Assam.

In addition to the machine’s launch, Tata Steel has also inaugurated its first fully automated Construction Service Centre in Guwahati, Assam, in partnership with SM Corporation Limited. The centre has a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per month and will offer customized reinforcement products and solutions, initially focusing on Tiscon ReadyBuild – pre-engineered Cut & Bend Tata Tiscon TMT rebars with coupler threading.

The launch of the Mobile Bore Pile Cage Machine and the inauguration of the Construction Service Centre underscore Tata Steel’s commitment to driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in India’s rapidly growing infrastructure sector. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the North-East region, which is recognized for its promising yet challenging construction environment.

The Guwahati facility is part of Tata Steel’s growing network of 31 digitally connected, fully automated reinforcement solutions service centres across India. These centres are driving a 33% year-on-year growth in ready-to-use reinforcement solutions and offer an expanding portfolio of services, including cut-and-bend services, engineered meshes, rebar threading, and bore pile cages.

Tata Steel’s initiatives are expected to transform construction practices across the country, and the company has announced its major sustainability objectives, including Net Zero by 2045. The company has received several recognition and awards for its digital-enabled business transformation journey, sustainability efforts, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The launch event was attended by over 100 customers and consultants from the infrastructure, housing, and industrial sectors, and featured a presentation on new technologies in road construction by Sh. Satish Pandey, Principal Scientist & Project Leader, CSIR-Central Road Research Institute. The event highlighted Tata Steel’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, and its efforts to drive growth and development in the infrastructure sector.
