Motherson Group, a leading auto component manufacturer, has unveiled its ambitious “Vision 2030” plan, aiming to achieve $108 billion in gross revenues by fiscal year 2030. This represents a significant leap from its $25.7 billion revenue in FY25, with a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 33%. The strategy focuses on aggressive diversification and strategic acquisitions, positioning Motherson as a multi-industry player.

The company’s “3CX10” principle ensures that no single country, customer, or component contributes more than 10% of total revenues. This principle was successfully applied during the Vision 2025 period, where Motherson achieved a benchmark of no single customer contributing more than 10% of revenues and added over 40 marquee customer groups. Management aims to deliver a 40% consolidated Return on Capital Employed (ROCE), a substantial increase from 18% in FY25.

Motherson’s expansion plans involve moving up the value chain, becoming a full vehicle assembly player by 2030, and progressing to complete assembly in non-auto segments. The company will compete more directly with larger systems integrators and smaller-volume vehicle assemblers. Geographically, China remains a strong growth engine, with Motherson supplying to seven of the top 10 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturers in the country.

The company has made strategic acquisitions, including an 81% stake in Yutaka Giken Co. Ltd. (YGCL), to strengthen its partnership with Honda and expand business with other Japanese OEMs. Motherson is also deepening its expertise in core product lines, such as Wiring Harnesses and Vision Systems, achieving end-to-end vertical integration and evolving from basic build-to-print solutions to full system solution providers.

Motherson’s “local-for-local” model shields it from the material impact of US tariffs, and the company’s Vision 2030 outlines an aggressive approach to growth, leveraging strategic acquisitions, vertical integration, and diversification into high-growth sectors. The roadmap suggests a transformation beyond its traditional role, as Motherson endeavors to become a more dominant and integrated global manufacturing powerhouse in the coming decade. With its robust growth plans and strategic expansions, Motherson Group is poised to achieve its ambitious targets and become a leading player in the global manufacturing industry.
