Aditya Kaushal, a student of Ambuja Manovikas Kendra (AMK) in Ropar, Punjab, has made a name for himself in the world of sports, particularly in snowshoeing. Despite facing physical and intellectual challenges, Aditya has shown determination and perseverance, earning a spot in India’s contingent for the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turin, Italy. He achieved impressive results, securing 4th place in the 200m and 6th place in the 100m snowshoeing events.
Aditya’s success story is a testament to the supportive environment and resources provided by AMK, a school for special needs children. He joined the school in 2017 and, through personalized therapy, structured sports training, and emotional support, transformed from a withdrawn teenager into a confident and disciplined sportsperson. His talent and dedication have earned him recognition at national-level championships, and he has now made his mark on the world stage.
Aditya’s achievements have been recognized by prominent authorities, including the Ministry of Defence and the Sports Authority of India, who invited him as a special guest to witness the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi. He was also awarded the Best Sportsperson (Differently Abled Male) award at the District Independence Day Ceremony in Ropar, alongside two other AMK achievers.
Ambuja Cements, the company behind AMK, has been praised for its commitment to inclusion and creating equal opportunities through education and sports. The company’s CSR initiatives, including after-school sports programs, specialized training, and partnerships with Special Olympics Bharat, aim to provide every deserving student with the chance to shine, regardless of their abilities.
