Tata Steel Corporate Communication, in collaboration with the Sports Department of Tata Steel, recently organized a Golf Putting Competition for media professionals at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur. The event was part of the ongoing Summer Camp 2025 and saw enthusiastic participation from over 30 journalists representing various media houses across the city. The participants ranged in age from 20 to 70 years, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event and the growing appeal of recreational sports among professionals.

Many of the journalists were trying golf putting for the first time, and the excitement on the greens was palpable. The event concluded with a trophy presentation ceremony, where winners across different age categories were honored for their performance. The competition was a refreshing break from routine and a celebration of the strong bond between Tata Steel and the media fraternity of Jamshedpur.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Daisy Irani, Mukul Vinayak Chaudhary, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, and Rajesh Rajan, Head Communication Raw Materials & Jharkhand, Tata Steel. Their presence added to the enthusiasm of the participants and underscored Tata Steel’s commitment to community engagement. The organizing committee members worked tirelessly to make the event a success.

The competition saw some impressive performances, with winners being declared across different age categories. The overall champion was Nanak Singh, who scored 9 points in the 50-55 age category. Other winners included Ankit, Jitendra Sharma, Ranjan Jha, Binay Purty, and R. Nanda, who won in their respective age categories. The event was a testament to the growing interest in golf and other recreational sports among media professionals in Jamshedpur.
