The foundation stone for the Reliance Integrated Compressed Bio-Gas Plant in Divakara Palli village, Pedda Cherlo Palli mandal, will be laid on April 2. The project, worth Rs 131 crore, is expected to generate around 10,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. The event is being attended by State IT & HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and a representative from Reliance Group, possibly Mukesh Ambani. The preparations for the foundation laying ceremony and public meeting are in full swing, with authorities leveling the ground, clearing vegetation, and setting up electricity supply lines.

The project is part of the State government’s efforts to attract investments in the clean energy sector. As part of these efforts, the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, has secured a commitment from Reliance to invest in Andhra Pradesh’s pure fuels industry. The project will cultivate a special variety of grass to produce bio-gas, and additional affiliated industries will provide further employment opportunities. To expedite preparations, a large workforce, including JCBs, earthmovers, and tractors, has been deployed, with Revenue, Panchayat Raj, and Electricity Department staff working round the clock.

According to Kanigiri Ugra Narasimha Reddy, who is overseeing the arrangements, the plan is to ensure completion by April 1. He has ensured that all arrangements, including clearing 500 acres of land and setting up power supply, are being made to accommodate the expected large public turnout. With the project nearing completion, it is expected to become a major booster for the economy of the region, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the growth of the clean energy sector.
