Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the daughter of HCL Technologies’ billionaire founder Shiv Nadar, has become one of the wealthiest individuals in India and the richest woman in the country after her father transferred a significant stake in the company to her. Shiv Nadar gifted her 47% of his stake in HCL Corporation and Vama Delhi as part of his succession plan, making her the largest shareholder of HCL Corp and giving her controlling powers in the company. With this transfer, Malhotra’s net worth has increased significantly, ranking her among the top three richest individuals in India, after Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the Chairperson of HCL Technologies and has a strong educational background, having completed her undergraduate degree in Communications from Northwestern University in Illinois and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. She is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at MIT School of Engineering and an Executive Board member for Asia at the Kellogg School of Management.

In addition to her corporate roles, Malhotra is involved in philanthropic activities, particularly through the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which focuses on education. She is also a board member of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

Malhotra is married to Shikhar Malhotra, the Vice Chairman of HCL Healthcare, and her new role as the Chairperson of HCL Technologies will provide her with leadership responsibilities and a strong influence in the Indian IT sector. Her increased wealth and influence will further solidify her position as one of the most powerful women in India’s business and philanthropic circles.
