Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator, is now offering accidental insurance with three of its prepaid plans. The insurance is available for customers who recharge with the plans of Rs 239, Rs 399, and Rs 969. These plans are not new, as the insurance has been added to the existing plans.

The insurance cover is provided by ICICI Lombard, and the policy kicks in the next day of the recharge (T+1, 12 AM). The coverage period for the Rs 239 and Rs 399 plans is 30 days, while the Rs 969 plan offers 90 days of coverage. The insurance benefits include:

* Accidental death coverage of up to Rs 1 lakh
* Hospitalization coverage of up to Rs 25,000 in case of an accident

The plans also offer additional benefits such as:

* Unlimited voice calling
* Data and SMS benefits
* Unlimited 5G data with select plans

The insurance benefit and amount remain the same across all three plans. Interestingly, the policy doesn’t come into effect immediately; it starts the next day after recharging. In case a user has multiple Airtel SIM cards recharged with these plans, they can claim a maximum of Rs 5,00,000 under this offer.

Airtel is the only telecom operator in India to offer insurance with its plans, making it a unique offering. Users can choose from three plans: Rs 239, Rs 399, and Rs 969, to get this accidental insurance benefit.
