The 186th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of the Tata group, was marked with a grand celebration in Jamshedpur, India. The event began with the inauguration of the illumination of Jubilee Park, which was transformed into a “paradise of lights, colors, and festivities”. The park was decorated with tree wraps, colorful lights on plants and shrubs, and decorative shapes on street light poles, creating a vibrant display.

Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel TV Narendran, and other senior officials were present at the event, which was a showcase of the company’s commitment to the city and its legacy. The theme for this year’s Founder’s Day was “Leadership in Market, Technology, and Cost”.

The celebration also included a special Rangoli created in honor of former Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata, located opposite the JN Tata statue in Jubilee Park. The event was open to the public, with free admission to the park from 5 pm to 10 pm, and a special “drive-through” illumination experience from 10 pm to 11 pm.

In addition, several other locations in the city, including over 40 landmark spots, heritage buildings, and parks, were illuminated, creating a city-wide celebration. The Laser Show at Jubilee Park was also a highlight, promising an “enthralling visual experience for visitors”.

To ensure public safety, the organizers had set up a security helpdesk, watchtowers, and help desks at key locations, with a team of 200 police officials and 150 security volunteers managing pedestrian movement.

The celebrations will conclude on March 5, and the lights will be turned off on the same day. On March 3, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran will also pay homage to the Founder at Bistupur Postal Park.
