Vedanta, India’s largest aluminum producer, has expanded its Mobile Health Unit (MHU) services to the Kashipur block in Odisha’s Rayagada district, further reinforcing its commitment to community healthcare. The MHU has been launched to serve nearly 10,000 people in the region, providing quality healthcare at their doorstep. The initiative is part of Vedanta’s dedication to community welfare, which recognizes access to quality healthcare as a fundamental right.

The MHU is a specialized van equipped with a team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical technicians. It provides a range of services, including preliminary medical consultations, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, basic check-ups, and essential medicines for common ailments, all free of cost. The service is designed to enhance medical access and raise health awareness, fostering a healthier community.

Dr. Netrananda Nayak, Head of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kashipur, appreciated Vedanta’s initiative, stating that it will not only improve medical access but also promote a healthier community. Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vedanta Aluminium, emphasized the company’s commitment to community welfare, highlighting that the MHU is a testament to its dedication to delivering essential medical services to underserved regions.

Currently, the MHU is positively impacting the lives of over 10,000 people, providing vital medical services at their doorstep. By expanding its services to 21 more remote villages, Vedanta aims to create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of rural communities.
