Adani Group, a business conglomerate, announced a significant investment of Rs 65,000 crore in energy and cement projects in Chhattisgarh. The investment will be used to expand power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh, increasing the state’s power generation capacity by 6,120 MW. The Adani Group, India’s top private thermal power producer, aims to double its thermal power capacity to 30.67 GW by 2029-30. The company also committed Rs 5,000 crore for the development and expansion of its cement plants in the state. Additionally, Adani Group has pledged to invest Rs 10,000 crore in education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism sectors over the next four years under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The meeting also explored potential collaborations in manufacturing defense-related equipment, establishing data centers, and a global capability center in Chhattisgarh. This significant investment is expected to drive economic growth and create new job opportunities in the region.
