The second edition of the Tata Steel Kapilash Half Marathon 2025 was held in Dhenkanal, Odisha, with over 4,600 runners from across the country participating. The event, organized by Tata Steel in association with the district administration and Odisha Athletic Association, was flagged off by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The theme of the event was “Run to Protect Wildlife”, with a focus on conservation of elephants and other wild animals. The half-marathon took place on the periphery of the Kapilash Wildlife Sanctuary, and the route was certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The event also featured cutting-edge technology, including timing mats, radio frequency chips, and tracking cameras. Shubham Sindhu from Haryana won the 21 km men’s category, while Bharti from Haryana won the women’s 21 km race. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including ministers, MLAs, and industry leaders, who congratulated the winners and emphasized the importance of protecting wildlife.
