Bosch’s commitment to AI was made at CES in 2020, promising that every product and solution would either contain AI or be developed with it by 2025. Dr. Tanja Rückert, a member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH, showcased how the company has exceeded this goal, with 5,000 AI experts and over 1,500 AI-related patents filed. She emphasized the importance of “Coded #LikeABosch,” which prioritizes creating digital solutions that bring real benefits to people, rather than just novelty. Rückert also highlighted the company’s focus on building trust in new technologies, developing AI that is safe, secure, and explainable, and developing AI skills for employees. She warned of a lack of balance in the AI narrative, with some people being overly fearful or overconfident, and emphasized the need for a more nuanced approach. Bosch’s AI Academy offers a range of training opportunities to associates at all levels of expertise, with over 65,000 people having completed AI-related training. Rückert concluded that AI has the potential to improve many aspects of life, but it should prioritize people and human intelligence.
