Tata Steel Ups Employee Pay with Across-the-Board Salary Hike

Tata Steel has announced a dearness allowance (DA) hike for its employees, with steel wage workers receiving a 1.86% rise and NS grade staff getting a Rs 366 increase in their variable DA. This move brings the total DA for steel wage employees to 44.76% and benefits over 15,000 employees across different pay grades. The increase is in line with industry trends, with the All India Consumer Price Index guiding quarterly revisions. NS grade workers, who are a mix of fixed and variable DA components, will be paid an additional Rs 366, with 70% of steel companies having a similar dual structure. The hike is seen as a response to inflation trends, with financial experts predicting continued allowance adjustments based on consumer price changes.
