A delivery van belonging to a roofer in Den Bosch was set on fire early Thursday morning, the second such incident in two days. The van was extensively damaged, with its engine hood melted, and a nearby car was also affected. Authorities are investigating the incident as an act of deliberate destruction, but have not yet made contact with the owner of the vehicles. This incident follows a similar attack on Christmas Eve, where a roofer’s van was set alight. The same roofer has been targeted four times this year, and more than 20 explosions have been reported in cars and homes linked to the roofing industry. The incidents appear to be connected to a violent rivalry between local roofing contractors, with some suggesting that the attacks are a strategy to eliminate competition and take over work during dry periods. The police are treating these incidents as intentional acts of arson, but no arrests have been made yet.
