Bosch UK: Our HR teams are leveraging AI to transform the way we work

Bosch UK’s Head of HR, Martina McGrath, discusses how a generative AI-powered HR digital assistant, ROB, is transforming HR teams globally. The AI assistant was developed to encourage self-service interactions and simplify internal processes. ROB uses advanced AI and large language models to provide accurate and relevant information, and can identify when further support is needed from a human. The technology has been rolled out to most Bosch countries and allows associates to receive personalized help whenever needed, enhancing the user experience. Bosch is committed to the responsible use of AI, having established the BoschAI Code of Ethics in 2020. The company is also compliant with the EU AI Act, which aims to regulate the use of AI in the EU. ROB does not make decisions on behalf of associates, but rather supports them in getting the right information and using available services. The company is also exploring additional AI tools, including AskBosch, Bosch AI Document Intelligence, and Gen AI Playground. While public perceptions of AI are mixed, Bosch recognizes the importance of trust and is working to demonstrate the safe and robust use of AI.
