Kolkata 25K: Ethiopian duo of Kassa and Kebede cements their dominance with victory.

The Tata Steel World 25K road race was held in Kolkata, with Stephen Kissa from Uganda winning the men’s event and Sutume Kebede from Ethiopia retaining the women’s title. Kissa outran defending champion Daniel Ebenyo of Kenya to cross the finish line in 1:12:33, while Kebede recovered from a stomach ailment to win in 1:19:17. Gulveer Singh from India set a new course record in the men’s section, clocking 1:14:10, while Sanjeevani Jadhav won the women’s title with a time of 1:29:08. The event saw over 20,500 participants across various categories, with the early morning chill providing ideal conditions for the runners.
