Bosch, a leading manufacturer of electrical and electronic systems for motorcycles, has been developing and providing solutions to improve safety on the road. According to Geoff Liersch, Director of the Two-Wheeler and Powersports division, the company focuses on providing useful technologies, rather than waiting for regulatory requirements. The success of their Motorcycle Stability Control system, launched in 2013, demonstrates that the industry and consumers voluntarily seek safety innovations. Liersch believes that with good features and functions, people will buy them without need for legal obligations. Bosch’s goal is to spread their technologies, and if mandatory implementation is considered, they are happy to comply. However, if not, they will still release the features on the market, focusing on spreading safety technologies voluntarily.
