Siemens Settles Lawsuit Over Allegations of Discrimination Based on Religion and Gender

Siemens Corporation has won a court case against a former scientist, Mohammad Parsa Hosseini, who claimed he was discriminated against and fired due to his Muslim faith and Persian ethnicity. The court dismissed Hosseini’s allegations, ruling that his claims lacked factual evidence to support discrimination claims based on sex, gender, color, and religion, and failed to establish severe or pervasive harassment. Judge Susan Illston of the US District Court for the Northern District of California issued the decision. While Hosseini’s claims were dismissed, the judge did provide him with an opportunity to replead, implying that the court would allow him to refile the lawsuit if he can provide additional evidence to support his claims.
