Tata Steel’s mines won 38 prizes at the 42nd Annual Mines Safety Week-2024, organized by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) Bhubaneswar Region-1. Notable winners included Joda East Iron Mine, Katamati Iron Mine, and Joda West, each receiving four awards for excellence in safety and operational practices. Tiringapahad, Kamarda, and Saruabil mines received six prizes each, and Bamebari Mine secured four awards. The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Krishnendu Mondal, Director of Mines Safety (DMS) Bhubaneswar Region-1, and other prominent individuals from various mining companies. A total of 192 prizes were won by 63 mines in the Bhubaneswar region. The event also featured quizzes, first-aid competitions, and cultural programs. This recognition is a testament to Tata Steel’s commitment to safety standards and worker well-being, marking a milestone in the company’s mining operations.
