Air travelers in Odisha are frustrated with the frequent cancellation of Alliance Air flights on the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar route, leading to severe inconvenience. Passengers are having to deal with regular cancellations of flights, with some citing technical glitches and repair work as the reason. The route was initially operated on Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but even these flights have been cancelled until December 15, 2024. The Kolkata-Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela-Kolkata route was also stopped due to a technical glitch, only to be resumed later, only to be halted again. Passengers are demanding that other airlines be allowed to operate on the route to ensure smoother flight services. The airport authorities have not commented on the allegations. The frequent cancellations have raised concerns about the future of air connectivity in Odisha, leaving many travelers stranded.
