Skoda is set to launch the mid-cycle refresh of its popular SUV, the Skoda Kushaq. The company has released a teaser hinting at the upcoming variant, which is expected to feature design and cosmetic tweaks, new features, and more. The teaser image shows the car draped in a green cover with the caption “The wait is almost over,” suggesting that the launch is imminent.<\/p>\n
Although the car is covered, some details are visible, including a new front design with a full-width LED daytime running light setup and a sharper grille design, similar to the one found in the Kylaq. The rear of the SUV is expected to feature redesigned tail-lamps connected by an LED light bar and an illuminated Skoda logo.<\/p>\n
The overall design of the car is expected to remain the same, with a split headlamp layout, but with revised bumpers and slimmer elements to differentiate it from the outgoing model. The updated Kushaq will continue to compete in the crowded mid-size SUV segment against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Vitara, and the recently launched Tata Sierra.<\/p>\n
In terms of interior design, the updates are expected to be more substantial, with a larger touchscreen infotainment screen and new comfort and tech features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and level 2 ADAS.<\/p>\n
Mechanically, the Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to remain unchanged, with the same turbo-petrol engine options, including a 1.0-litre unit producing 116 hp and 178 Nm, and a 1.5-litre unit generating 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The transmission options will also remain the same, including a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DSG, depending on the engine variant.<\/p>\n
The launch of the Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to take place soon, and it will be interesting to see how the updated model competes in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
