Citro\u00ebn has unveiled the ELO concept, a six-seat multipurpose vehicle (MPV) developed in collaboration with Decathlon, at the Brussels Motor Show. The ELO concept showcases a unique design with a central driving position, allowing for two front passengers to sit on either side of the driver. This innovative design eliminates the need for left and right-hand drive models. The concept vehicle is made from sustainable materials, such as polypropylene used in cycle helmets, which is incorporated into the bumpers.<\/p>\n
The ELO concept is designed to be a versatile space, transforming into different configurations, including a sleeping area, a home cinema, and a workspace. The rear of the vehicle can be converted into a sleeping space for two people, complete with an inflatable mattress that can be inflated using the onboard power supply. The rotating driver’s seat and a small table provide a viable workspace, while the “play” configuration allows for a home cinema experience.<\/p>\n
Citro\u00ebn CEO Xavier Chardon stated that the ELO concept represents “the return of the MPV,” a sector in which Citro\u00ebn was a pioneer over 20 years ago with the Picasso. The ELO concept is intended to be a place for drivers to “Rest, Play and Work,” with the name derived from the second letter of each of these words. While the ELO concept in its current form is unlikely to become a production reality, Citro\u00ebn has indicated that many of its design elements will be introduced into future models within the brand and possibly elsewhere within the Stellantis group.<\/p>\n
